Fall is here - a life changing event happened

I'm 53 years old. Yet another year is coming to an end. Some weeks ago our little family was hit by a life changing event as my wife got ill. Everything stopped - I was in chock - we are not immortal and will live forever - as young people or people with a young mind are inclined to believe. I'm sure my wife will overcome this illness, but our family has stopped up for a brief moment to reflect upon our life and way of living. One of my many reflections can be comprised into one sentence - "Don't waste time". It sound banal but priorities must change when you realize that life has an expiration date. Maximize time with the ones you love and have fun while working.

I'm writing an article on Nikon Speedlight SB-910 and hence has to experiment with it. Once again I persuaded my daughter to act as a model. As light modifier both the standard SB-910 diffuser and a white umbrella has been used. Straight out of camera and converted to b/w in LR4. The umbrella is very close to her face giving a wrapping soft light.

ShoeBox - Day 74

I have over 10.000 digital files - many of which I still need to "develop" in LR. But I also have over 3.000 paper photos that we don't look at anymore as they are hidden away in a "ShoeBox". Then I read about a new app to iPhone 4 making it possible to convert my analog shoebox to a digital shoebox - only by using my iPhone as a scanner. Here is the link to the app . Above photo shows a handfull of paper photos of my daughter Camilla when she was only 2 month old. The top one - me holding Camilla - I then photographed with my iPhone4S. In the ShoeBox app there is some basic editing options like crop, color adjustment and light/shadow adjustment. You can also add a text, a date, a location and tags. In the web application it is possible to invite family members to join the album, build a family tree and upload to Facebook and Twitter. By why not use a flatbed scanner? The quality of camera phones has increased a lot and the new iPhone 4S offers a 8
